Sean and Jessica are such a neat couple.  There were more than a few times through the night that I found myself thinking “They totally have their act in gear, these two are amazing…” and then the next moment thinking “They are adorable.  They just completely get each other and are so in love!”  It was just really awesome watching two people have so much love and admiration for each other, and to be so in sync.  Jessica is not only lovely, and I really mean lovely, but also smart, savvy, kind and caring.  And stunning, old world, simple, beauty.  Sean is smart, collected, traditionally handsome but with a very, very, very uncanny ability to JUMP REALLY HIGH.  Together, they are very fun.

Since Jessica & Sean met training for the Boston Marathon together, the reception had a fabulous theme to it… each table held a sign that marked an important milestone on the 26.2 mile route.  There were endless other details tying together the location venue (nautical) with their passion (running) and their athletic affiliations (baseball).  Much like my own home, it will be a blended marriage.  And some day I suspect Jessica & Sean will have to have the uncomfortable conversation and their children will have to make a choice.  Will they be Red Sox or Yankees fans?  Jessica, in my home I had to throw in a sizable measure of guilt and say “Owen, should anything ever happen to me, please promise me their first game will be at Fenway.”  Feel free to use that line, it’s recevived with mixed results.

So landing the plane, here are some images from the day.  I am so excited to see this entire gallery pulled together because it was truly a night to remember.

If you haven’t done so already, check out Amy’s perspective.   We hooked up with Jessica though Abby Gray of Olivia Browning, whose meticulous planning helped facilitate a wedding day without a hitch.  Both the wedding and the reception were held at the Commandant’s House in Charlestown, which is a fantastic venue that provides an atmosphere of nautical, old world Boston, and preppy chic.  The flowers were downright amazing… unique, whimsical and stylish and Lauren from Raspberry Bouquet was hands on and incredibly involved, making sure that Jessica was thrilled.  I thought I’d shout those out because everyone really pulled it together for a great day!

Amy Ro and I were beyond fortunate to be able to photograph this marriage of not only two people, but also their families.  Two families who have been linked together through time, fate, sorrow and joy.  Two families that are full of love, spirit and joy.  Two families that are now one.

There were a million moments during this day when people paused to honor those not with them, and those that were with them in spirit.  And a million looks, touches, hugs, whispers, shouts and laughs were exchanged to rejoice in the union.  It was extraordinary.

Monica and Todd, you are so loved.  But you know that.  Because you just knew.

A millions smiles, hugs and amazing thoughts from me to you as you continue building your lives together.  I am hopeful that I will be able to document more events in your life and happy to know that we will share wine and stories, and perhaps some golf lessons in our future.

Melissa and John, it was an amazing night.  Hands down, my favorite part of the night was hearing Melissa tell us how much she loves John, about all the special things he does for her, and just how happy he makes her.  Her natural smile and laugh was so gorgeous and candid — it lit up the whole field.  And the way John looks at Melissa, like she is this fantastic gift that he waited a lifetime to receive and it’s 10,000 times better than he ever imagined it to be — it made my heart melt.

Thank you.  Really, thank you!

Based on what I wrote above, my absolute favorite from the night… yes, there are more “perfect” images on my card, but this one makes me really happy.

Yes, that’s Alison’s furniture out on the driveway.  Truth be told, we really wanted the velvet couch out there.  Maybe for holiday cards?  Pretty please?

And because no night is complete without a little rim lighting and flare…

I had so much fun hanging out with them.  I seriously should have followed them home for Todd’s Tacos.  But it was about 90 degrees at 7:30PM and mama was not so smart and wore jeans and after climbing 6 stories to Trevor & Denise’s roofdeck, I just needed to go home and jump in the pool (which I did, after a brief pit stop in the old hood for a quick libation).

Anyway, the stars just sort of aligned with this.  Months and months ago we had brunch at Trevor & Denise’s house and I got the idea that I’d love to shoot on his roofdeck (who wouldn’t) and also in his stairwell.  I shot a few of Christofer, but then realized it wasn’t a setup for kids.  So I tucked it away and the minute I heard Monica & Todd were engaged I knew I wanted to bring them there.  So I basically hunted down Monica and haunted her on Facebook until she said yes!  T&D left us the key, the weather was perfect, the light was yummy and voila!

I hope you love these as much as I do.  I don’t work with adults very often, though it’s something I am exploring with a potential partner and we are both very excited by the prospects.  I’d love to hear your thoughts on these… and leave this adorable couple some love!
