This blog contains old session blog posts, and my failed 2011 attempt at "One Image a Day" project in which I force myself to shoot something each day, personal or professional, as a challenge to myself. I'd love to hear what you think of the images as they might slightly stray from the norm. We'll see if I can pick it up for 2012!
This month’s Jack & Will Show was quite possibly the best one yet. I have to extend a big thank you to the “team” that I had helping me, which was comprised of 2 woman (ensuring safety), one man (ensuring laughs) and one 3rd grade girl (ensuring bubbles). Oh, and 2 dogs (ensuring barking and herding).
I am off to photograph Monica & Todd’s wedding today, so I am out of the loop… stay tuned for images tomorrow or Monday!
To say I was excited to look through these images is an understatement. I had them uploading before I even let Owen know I was home. I enthusiastically encouraged him to go to Home Depot while Janey napped so I could publish this sneak peak. And I uploaded them to the blog so that I could sneak looks at them in the kitchen and write this post while pretending to make lunch for the kids.
I was really excited to include the entire family in this month’s session. I think it just adds just and awesome dimension… and let’s be honest, you all wanted to see their beautiful parents too, didn’t you? I love that these little guys have a blog following of all their own! I think it’s awesome that I show up to sessions and clients will say “so tell me more about Jack & Will… how are they doing?” Anyway, I just love the captures of the boys and their mom. She is not only beautiful, but really lovely. And I could not have been more excited about her dress. How excellent is it? Love.
I think I have mentioned that Jack & Will live on a gorgeous farm. As they get older and we explore more, you will no doubt see more and more of it. I have figured out something fabulous or our July session… and also for our November/One Year session… just need to get the wheels turning and put it in motion!
I hope everyone is enjoying their Father’s Days. Owen has done enough yard work and pool cleaning to deserve a little cocktail, and I might just have to join him (especially since I just drove by a van that had “it’s 5:00 somewhere” written on the back windshield). My kind of peeps.

I can’t. Shame on me because you know how I love these sessions. This is the April installment of the Jack & Will Show. Technically, I am right on time because it’s only two weeks from the session date, but usually I at least hook up Carolyn with a sneak peak!
So here is our sneak peak from April with a gallery and uploaded Facebook albums (and a canvas display wall diagram) all coming at you! It might be fun for you to see my logic in suggesting canvas displays, and I have a few others I need to complete (Terri Lee)…. so maybe I’ll share that thought process as well!
Back to the boys. Love these two. They are doing SO well at sitting. I would be they are even better two weeks later, so when I am there at end of this month, we’ll have way more to show you as these guys develop, the grass is greener, the temps are warmer and we move outside! I already have grand plans for those rose bushes and just wait ’til I can get into that barn!
We might need to revisit the baseball theme next month so I can do it up right!

Loved our session this month! I walked in thinking “What am I ever going to do with these guys to make it special? It’s raining and grey and none of the things I thought up even feel feasible in this cold…” And this house, and these babies, they never fail to disappoint. It is probably the best thing I can do for my photography growth and development… every month looking for new and unique challenges, not re-using props or locations, working with the babes so that I document their evolution and show their uniqueness and bond! I also keep thinking about all the One Year albums options there are… and Carolyn’s fabulous canvas wall… this has been way more fun than I ever expected!
I am seriously loving these babes though. They have totally distinct personalities, but are so cute in that they still grab for each other, knowing they are connected. And I think they weigh more than Janey… and Will for sure has more hair than she does! Hopefully she’ll like younger men…

I cannot even begin to tell you how much I love these photos and the work that you are doing. You are so gifted. My canvas wall will soon be canvas walls with all the prints that I want to order. I absolutely love heading down the street for these sessions. I have so many ideas for the warm weather, and for when these guys can sit up! I am thinking my May session is going to be off the hook… and hopefully for the June session we’ll shoot the entire family! I am hoping we can do one full session just in the barn. It is so fun watching Jack & Will grow each month… they are out of the newborn stage where you have to carefully hold up their heads and worry endlessly about them. They are really strong and sturdy and push up so well! They are getting the hang of holding their feet and I bet it’s so soon before they are really rolling over… then a whole new set of worries!
Can’t wait for next month!
