The blog has moved...

You've reached my old blog... In order to simplify my blog, my portfolio and my life, I combined my blog and site into one. Now you can find my "blog" entries on my Recent Work page. You can also view my portfolio, link to slideshows and client information, and locate anything else you might need all in one place.

This blog contains old session blog posts, and my failed 2011 attempt at "One Image a Day" project in which I force myself to shoot something each day, personal or professional, as a challenge to myself. I'd love to hear what you think of the images as they might slightly stray from the norm. We'll see if I can pick it up for 2012!

March 20, 2010

I blogged just one image of this delicious little boy while I was on vacation and I just had to come back and add some more. He was so little, and so awake! Usually awake newborns are a challenge to work with, but honestly, he was a very content little boy and just sat there looking at the world, and was so happy to by hung over his dad’s arm! I really liked his parents and they live in a town that is so near and dear to my heart, where I spent so much time growing up and so I was just happy to be hanging out there on a beautiful day.

When I look at these, it makes me realize that I need to stop stressing about getting the perfect sleeping baby pose and embrace just how lovely it is to see a baby being held and loved by his parents. The more I go back and look, the happier these images make me. I hope you feel the same!

Baby Paige will receive a complimentary photography session and mini print package in her FABULOUS nursery! Stay tuned for that blog sneak peak, it’s sure to be beautiful!

Second and Third place winners will receive gift certificates as promised… and the Fourth and Fifth place finalists will also receive a little treat… more to come in your inbox as I get through the weekend and get caught up from vacation.

I really want to thank you all for your participation, the voting, and being just awesome contestants. Sometimes contests can go a funny way, especially with comments on the blog… and I am really happy that I was able to publish almost all the comments that were made and that they were all so lovely and supportive. I am thrilled and it’s inspired me to run a few more throughout the year! Stay tuned!

[For the guy that wrote the hysterical comment about taking the bus and cleaning the house... I laughed really hard, but I couldn't figure out if people might think it was too oddball if I published it... but you did have my husband and I rolling... mostly because I am the wife that doesn't clean!]

Now scroll on down past that family image and VOTE for your favorite nursery.  Don’t collect $200, don’t pass go.  Just go VOTE.  Two days left!

Nursery Contest Boston Photographer

I’d like to start by thanking everyone who submitted entries for the contest.  As you know, we narrowed the voting down to 5 nurseries.  If your nursery did not make the final round, please keep an eye out for an email from me next week when I return from vacation.  Thank you very much for submitting your wonderful nurseries and adorable babies.  I loved looking at them all!

The rules and fine print!

  • Voting will be open until midnight, March 17, 2010 (that’s next Wednesday night).
  • You may vote once a day.
  • You may not trip the system — I read my stats and if I see anything super weird going on, I’ll contact you via email to determine what it could be and if it is fishy, you will be disqualified.
  • You are allowed to tell as many people as you like — spread the word like wildfire to get the votes… but please do not make any disparaging remarks about the other nurseries.  If I find out that this has happened, the parties responsible will be removed from the contest.
  • If you publicize via Facebook, please be sure to let people know that this is in no way a Facebook sponsored contest and people may voluntarily Fan my business, but it is not a condition of participation.
  • Winners will be announced on Match 19, 2010.  First place receives a free session in their fabulous nursery with their adorable child.  Second and third place will receive gift cards to Kenzie Kids and The Flat of the Hill.  Fourth and fifth place will receive a small treat as well.

And now for the finalists and voting! Note that numbers are posted on each nursery and listed below each image.
