The blog has moved...

You've reached my old blog... In order to simplify my blog, my portfolio and my life, I combined my blog and site into one. Now you can find my "blog" entries on my Recent Work page. You can also view my portfolio, link to slideshows and client information, and locate anything else you might need all in one place.

This blog contains old session blog posts, and my failed 2011 attempt at "One Image a Day" project in which I force myself to shoot something each day, personal or professional, as a challenge to myself. I'd love to hear what you think of the images as they might slightly stray from the norm. We'll see if I can pick it up for 2012!

I am finally getting caught up with blog sneak peaks, almost a week late. Like my other sessions from last weekend, it was a reschedule of a reschedule weather did not disappoint! I was excited to be off River Road and in a totally new stomping ground. I was thrilled that Kerri chose the location and when I showed up it was simply gorgeous and perfect for photographs. And her girls, and their dresses, Oh My GOSH I loved every minute of them. So much that I had to do a little shopping myself when I got home! Everyone was so much fun and it was a really great way to wrap up a weekend. Well, almost wrap up since I had a pit stop on the way home… more on those later!

So my apologies for the delay, here’s a little glimpse of our day!

I cannot believe it’s Friday afternoon and I didn’t blog last weekend’s sessions yet (well, one but not all!). I am behind. Here are a few quick ones for a very awesome family. Really really nice, really really easy, and really really cute. Really? Yes, really. I might even give these guys the award of most calm and least chaotic session with three young children… it’s not to say that chaos is bad, certainly not, but I know “three boys” very well and how out of hand it can get, and these guys were just awesome. A few canines made an appearance for this session… bummed that the sledding hill was so wet or things could have become a lot more active (and dirty!)! Anyway, I am sorry I am so late on this, it’s not for lack of awesome images, just lack of time on my part! Thank you!

{oh, and tag this under “what to wear” because this is a really well coordinated but not obnoxiously matching family… love it!}

Sessions… fields… my spotless house… because that’s just what I do.  I skipped a session or two but will catch up tomorrow, I just got caught up “starring” this gallery and before I knew it, I’d edited a few and voila, a blog post!  So more stuff, in order, tomorrow!

This was a reschedule of a reschedule of a reschedule of a reschedule and didn’t it work out just so well?!?  What a phenomenal day!  The colors were INSANE, the family was just so good looking and the kids totally held it together even though we were playing during prime nap times.  So we ran down the street, pet the horses, climbed on the walls, and finally, traipsed — no, skipped — through some fields!  Totally fun Sunday afternoon!  Thank you!

…to last week.  Was it just last week?  It seems like maybe it was six weeks ago… fall seems to crawl and fly by at the same time!  I caught up with Corin and the kids at my favorite fall location and both the kids and leaves brought their A Game.  Corin’s kids (ok, Corin & Dan, whoops!) are REALLY cute.  Like cute good looking and cute amazing personalities.  They get along so well and were really fun to photograph.  They were up for anything, excited to run and jump and excited to sit still and look at me when I asked… is this an age thing or just a “good kid” thing?  Anyone (Corin) want to give some lessons on how to make this happen?

So check ‘em out!

of my most favorite people ever.  Well, really Jen is most favorite person, but since her family shares her with me, by default I love them and have them to thank.

Jen gives my family more than I will ever be able to express in words.  She has patience, kindness and love for my children that one would only expect from a parent (possibly a parent that takes some sort of happy and calming medicine, I dunno, I don’t have that patience and they are mine).  She bends over backwards to make sure that my life runs as smooth as humanly possible (can you imagine it if I had to run it myself? yikes!).  She has now taken on, and accomplished, some rather daunting administrative tasks to support my business and I am happy that I can bring her even more into it and perhaps keep her involved and a part of it in the future.  She observes our life as unbiased as she can and day in and day out knocks on the door at 8:15AM and saves us from ourselves.  Every morning, rain or shine, and even on the weekends, Christofer asks “is Dzjin comin’ today mumma?”

We love her.  So I was infinitely thrilled to photograph her with HER family, at her 3rd home away from home, where they Sky is NEVER falling.  Thank you.
