The blog has moved...

You've reached my old blog... In order to simplify my blog, my portfolio and my life, I combined my blog and site into one. Now you can find my "blog" entries on my Recent Work page. You can also view my portfolio, link to slideshows and client information, and locate anything else you might need all in one place.

This blog contains old session blog posts, and my failed 2011 attempt at "One Image a Day" project in which I force myself to shoot something each day, personal or professional, as a challenge to myself. I'd love to hear what you think of the images as they might slightly stray from the norm. We'll see if I can pick it up for 2012!

It seems crazy that two years ago, right around this time, we closed on this house and moved on up here. No real plan, weren’t even looking to move, but we found a house and within about 12 weeks we packed up and moved out of the city to this random town we really didn’t know that much about. Lisa P. made most of it happen for us… including finding our awesome summer sitter, Jackie, who is now a friend. We found instant friends in all of our neighbors. TL and I clicked on my very first morning (she loves retelling that story) and she introduced me to just about everyone and I immediately became part of the community (not sure that I am actually adding any value) — she also gave us Jen, and you know how lucky we feel with that. It is still a little bizarre to both of us that we live in a house, with a pool, and garage parking (after oh so many years of supporting the BTD with parking tickets and towing fees).

Anyway, long story short, Owen and I were reading the old blog a few nights ago and I went back and looked for this post and it so reminded me of Sunday afternoon. Since C & J have birthdays 4 days apart, I love that I can look back two years pretty much to the date and see what C was doing and compare it to Janey. I love that I have both of them going up in the air!

So here are 3/4 of us, enjoying a random Sunday evening!

Under the pile of crap on my desk, but on top of all the papers on the floor.  Basically sandwiched in between mess, procrastination, overload, multitasking and a little bit of potty training.  Nice image, right?  No, really, I’m stretched a little thin (figuratively only, unfortunately), but loving every minute of it.  I am working on two amazing “commercially” projects, neither of which I think I can blog… but lots of good working coming out of them.  And I am finishing up orders for people (and a few stray galleries) that are LONG overdue.  It seriously makes me giddy that I can cross them off the list.  And at the very, very, very last minute working on some Strawberry Festival details (like finding a tent, which I think I need in like 36 hours… luckily Jen is resourceful and saving my butt once again.  did I mention that everyone needs Jen, or a Jen, in their lives?).

I digress, what  surprise.  I do have a lot to blog, like wonderful pictures from a quick getaway with the other Jen (and families).  But more important than that, I need to blog THIS.  I am so so glad that I made the trip down to see Katy and her fam.  Well, most of her fam since the girlie was sleeping.  Her little boy is TO.  DIE.  FOR.  Honestly, have you seen much cuter?  And so happy.  Really happy.  Like “I am 14 weeks old and totally okay with this total stranger carrying me around and taking pictures really close with a big lens.  I’ll just giggle.”  So glad I was able to find some coverage for the kiddos (thanks Jackie!) and zip on down.  Good times.

Does anyone else want to title this one “Whachoo talkin’ ’bout Willis?”
