The blog has moved...

You've reached my old blog... In order to simplify my blog, my portfolio and my life, I combined my blog and site into one. Now you can find my "blog" entries on my Recent Work page. You can also view my portfolio, link to slideshows and client information, and locate anything else you might need all in one place.

This blog contains old session blog posts, and my failed 2011 attempt at "One Image a Day" project in which I force myself to shoot something each day, personal or professional, as a challenge to myself. I'd love to hear what you think of the images as they might slightly stray from the norm. We'll see if I can pick it up for 2012!

I showed “by Christofer” so here is “of Christofer.” So much going on with my almost three year old little boy! Still hates smiling for the camera.

He’s obsessed with using my camera. I really should give him my 40D to play with versus the 5DMK2, but clearly I am not very responsible. Anyway, typically if I help him with settings, he can actually make the photograph happen. He has to do it sitting because with the 24-70 lens on it, the thing weighs about 1/4 of his body weight. But I love the way this one came out.

This will look way better on their wall than on my floor.

I had a whirlwind of a session on Tuesday night with a very energetic, very funny, very large family.  And I loved every minute of them.  You know from my plate-throwing Greek roots that I prefer passion and opinion and everyone together far more than a quiet night at home, so these guys were right up my alley.  I hope I was able to do them justice and capture what they were looking for!  And I hope the birthday dinner was wonderful, good food, good stories, a lot of love.

Before anyone asks… this is not it.  This is a sneak peak and yes, I have MANY more to show you.

Look at this gorgeous baby.  He has my three favorite things going on: perfectly clear beautiful eyes that allow me to see the blue sky in them, a little beauty mark exactly like my Janey Baby has… and bubbles!

And how cute is this boy? When I saw the squirt bottle I was a little worried, knowing the disaster that occurs in my house not so much when C has the squirt bottle, but more when we try to take it away. But he was SO good with it and was so careful to water the plants just so. He didn’t even allow temptation to break him when I said he could squirt me! (and you know my love, undying love, for Rhodos… so that makes this shot all good for me).

The kids were all just good kids. Like really good kids. Like I didn’t even have to tell them stupid jokes or start jumping, they just rocked it out.

These two beauties rocked it out very well… this is like 1 of 10 perfect images that just scream “TAG ME ON FACEBOOK.” Will do girlies, will do.

As you can imagine, with a group this big, I overshot ALL the group pictures so I could ensure that I captured one that is just perfect. I have no idea if this one is it, I have so many to look through, this is just one I grabbed and so if you think “so is that it? is that the one?” Maybe. Maybe not. We’ll see!

And because Lisa knows that it’s almost a requirement to jump, she jumped! Yay!

I am trying to clean up on all my old blog posts. I have just so many folders of unprocessed images of the kids, the yard, my incredibly clean office (now you know I am just full of beans). Anyway, I’ve been meaning to get over to Alison’s to take some snapshots of how she hung her canvases and gallery mounts. The most awesome thing about these displays are that they are the images that she used for her last two holiday cards.

I also wanted to say thanks to everyone who came by my sauna booth at Strawberry Festival. It was a blast. I loved talking to everyone, meeting new people, and generally feeling like a contributing member of the community. I especially want to thank Barbara Pratt who made it all happen, her lovely nieces for being the peanut gallery helping me set up, to Jackie for taking care of the kids, Nicole for sitting in my booth while I sprinted to the rest room and my husband for bringing me a cooler of iced water and Diet Coke.
